THERESE JACINTO DESIGN
Blog
Therese's style can be described as elegant, timeless, and fresh. Mixing the old with the new and the expected with the unexpected is a key element to her designs. Her projects embody practicality, comfort, and function with refined and artistic details.
Therese graduated with honors from the Art Institute of California in San Francisco with a B.S. degree in Interior Design. During the course of her studies, she completed internships at two award-winning architecture and design firms. Her final stint before graduation landed her a coveted spot in Martha Angus Inc. as a Junior Designer.
A passion for residential interiors developed as she worked alongside Martha and the rest of the design team - participating in a handful of high-end residential projects around the San Francisco Bay Area and New York. In 2008, Therese joined designer Shane Reilly at Decorati Inc. as an independent designer. Shane's elegant projects, business savvy, and unique approach to design in this tech-driven era inspired Therese and influenced her to build something she could call her own.
The multi-faceted design industry gave Therese the chance to dabble in event and floral design - creating unique and memorable details in weddings, social events, birthdays, showers and more. By the end of 2009, Therese founded THERESE JACINTO DESIGN - offering interior design, event styling, and floral design services in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Therese enjoys the challenge of conceptualizing and executing a style and theme that embodies her client's personalities while incorporating her signature chic and fresh aesthetic.
The idea that people's lives are influenced, enhanced, and nurtured by the world around them inspires my designs. My goal is to unite high-end style and modern luxuries with practicality and affordability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Event Styling?
Event Styling, also called Event Design, is the process of creating a look and feel of a special event through the details in invitations, favors, table layouts, tablescapes, florals and decor, and the like. This differs from Wedding or Event Planning. A wedding or event planner acts as a project manager by taking care of budgets, establishing dates and locations, coordinating with all the vendors, and organizing timelines. Event planners may also act as an event stylist, depending on their training and background. However, event stylists are not planners.
How does the design process work?
We schedule a complementary consultation and go over a brief questionnaire. A tour of the home or event venue will be arranged. Therese will asses the project goals, list a break down of services we can offer to complete the project, and share her ideas through presentation boards. As soon as our services are outlined, and the client decides we are a perfect fit for the project- a design contract is signed, and we get straight to work! Throughout the project we work closely with our clients to ensure every detail meets and exceeds their expectations.
Where are you located?
We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. While most of our projects are located here, we are open to traveling out-of-town! We do offer Virtual Design services (see next question) to help reach clients that are more than a skip hop or jump away. However, due to our select group of vendors, we only offer our floral design services locally. Please get in touch with us for more information.
What are Virtual Design Services?
We provide solutions for interiors and event styling such as creating concept boards, floor plans, and furniture and accessory selection all via web and email correspondence. Our concept boards are a collection of digital images that translate a vision, a look, or a style that our clients can execute in their own homes, or in their special event. Please contact us for more information.
How much do you charge for Interior Design Services?
Since each project is unique and requires different solutions, we request you contact us for more information regarding design fees.
How much do you charge for wedding or event flowers?
Each floral project is custom and costs depend on the design, flower choices, season, and availability. To give you a rough idea, the typical flower budget for a wedding with 150 guests can range between $3,000 for simple arrangements to $10,000 for more elaborate designs. A good rule of thumb is to allocate 15% of the total wedding budget for decor and flowers. We will always work within a client's budget while maintaining our design aesthetic.
